Most of grocery store dog food formulas, like IAMS, Pedigree, Science Diet, Purina,and etc contain "meat and bone meal" which has been known to contain dead dogs and cats that were euthanized in animal shelters. Their bodies are picked up and bought by the truck load by "rendering plants" , that also pick up road kill, dead live stock, and etc. They are shredded, and boiled. They skim off the fat on the top of the "soup" and collected it and sell it to pet food companies as "animal fat", the rest of the animals' remains are crushed up, dried and sold to dog and cat food companies as meat and bone meal.

Here is an article where the owner of a rendering plant talks about it. He says that cremating the dead shelter animals would cause pollution, and that rendering them is good.

Eagle Pack Holistic Select makes a food specially formulated for large beed puppies and adults. Eagle Pack's "Holistic" line are all super premium foods. Stay away from the regular Eagle pack.

ORIJEN, if you're going for kibble. I suggest that too.

Not all dogs can process all foods, even if it's great food. Ask your local supplier if they'll give you a couple day's worth just to see if your dog A) likes it B) does fine on it, digestion wise. Our local boutique will do that for free.

Cat food is 'cat food'

and dog food is 'dog food'

Your dog will NOT get the diet he NEEDS from this.
You need to find a dog food diet he likes..Try mixing a dog wet mix with dry. Cause its not healthy to eat cat food all long life..

I noticed you don't have Orijen on here, that is a really good food! I would put that with EVO!

Canidae if you are on a budget.

EDIT: Whatever you do avoid the first response to get Science Diet or Purina Proplan...bad choice.
